If I had to summarize everything that I have gone through in my life of overcoming drugs and other issues, I would have to say that having hope amid many difficult and challenging situations literally saved me. And I’ve seen hope save thousands of others, which is why Mothers In Crisis (MIC) is conducting the Whole Hope Campaign to release the power of hope. - Dr. Rosalind Y. L. Tompkins
Dr. Rosalind Tompkins created the Practice of Hopeology based upon her formal education at Florida State University in the world-renowned Social Work Department graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree, and her professional experience in founding and leading Mothers In Crisis, Inc. in 1991, where she helped tens of thousands of families to overcome crises of various kinds including addictions. This was done all through the power of hope. In addition, her personal experience of overcoming and maintaining recovery from various addictions for well over thirty years, has informed and led her to create a mechanism and means to harness the power of hope.
Dr. Tompkins has taken her insight, expertise, and experience and created the Practice of Hopeology. A practical, simple, yet profound approach to empower others to become hopeful and share hope with others.
In honor of April National Month of Hope 2023, Mothers In Crisis is implementing the Hope, Pass It On and Save a Life Campaign, by providing practical tools and training to help people become more hopeful and share hope with others as hope is needed now more than ever. We are encouraging everyone to explore creative ways to promote hope in April during the National Month of Hope. We suggest planning events and activities within families and communities. Hope can mean different things to different people, and we want to include everyone. Therefore, the Hope Pass It On and Save a Life Campaign is nonsectarian.
Need hope? Know someone who does? If so, join Mothers In Crisis, Hope Pass It On Campaign and learn to become more hopeful and bring hope to others.
